A message from our MD, Dino Barile
After over 30 years, it’s time for me to take a step back from the business that has given me endless cherished moments and unforgettable experiences.
It’s been a whirlwind journey since 1992. I still remember that April day when a new opportunity presented itself. I seized it with both hands, knowing deep down that it could change my life, and it certainly has.
When I look back, I see my younger self: scared, but determined. Ever since, I’ve tried to keep my feet firmly planted in the present while looking ahead with optimism and purpose.
It’s been a life full of contrasts and balance, learning and teaching, shaping and operating, challenges and achievements, disappointments and gratifications, failures and successes, laughter and tears, contrasts and hugs.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting many extraordinary people and collaborating closely with internal and external partners and suppliers, always working in harmony for the success of our valued clients.
Since 1992, I have let myself be guided by values such as respect, honesty and, just a touch of romanticism.
And yet, the moment comes when you sit, sip, and think: what’s next?
Many of you may have noticed my absence at recent trade shows and wondered: “Where’s Dino? What’s he up to?”
Well, I’m still here, alive and kicking. But I’ve decided to slow down, unwind, and let go of the daily pressures of chasing the next event. It’s time for more space, more presence, and more moments with my family.
With this new phase comes an exciting transition: I am proud to share that Welcome Italy’s portfolio will now form part of ECMeetings, a DMC with a strong international footprint, shared values, and an impeccable reputation. I am confident that under their stewardship, our clients will continue to receive the same warmth, creativity, and care that have always been our hallmark.
Looking ahead, I will remain involved with a few long-standing clients and focus on delivering unique, bespoke events in Switzerland and Italy. Less volume, more depth, and hopefully, even more magic.
This is Welcome Swiss & Welcome Italy today. This is me. And this is the future.
